My 1st Lomo camera
19 Feb
FINALLY!
My very first lomo camera! I purchased the Blackbird Fly camera. It’s a 35mm twin-lens reflex. I was contemplating to buy this camera for months and after the long awaited Chinese New Year (CNY=$$ + bad cough), I finally laid my hands on one!
The colours were all so attractive but among all, there was one which stood out. The one which was calling out to me. The bright orange blackbird.
Oh well. I bought my for $195 at a ‘toy’ shop. (Can’t really recall the shop name at the moment) Well, I’m aware that online shops are selling at a cheaper price, but it’s just a few dollars difference and I couldn’t stand the wait.
What I really like about this camera is that it’s on film. Most cameras you see on the streets are all digital. The world in fact is going digital.
I like the little tingle of old school-ness that the camera brings. It brings back memories of good ole days where digital cameras have not taken over the world. Another aspect is that since it’s on film, I’ve got to plan my shots well and make sure that I do not take unnecessary/ blur photos.
I can’t wait to see how my photos will turn out. Will update and post it when I have it!
